Student Organization
Services (SOS)
is one of four offices in the UNH
Leadership Center, located in room 120 of the Memorial
Union Building (MUB). Our staff consists of one full-time Coordinator
for SOS and Leadership and four part-time student interns.
SOS Mission
The mission of the SOS Office is to encourage UNH students to get involved in co-curricular activities, to reach out to student organizations in order to help them grow organizationally, and to provide on-going training and support to all student organizations recognized by the university. The SOS Office also strives to act as a unifying agent amongst all recognized student organizations at UNH, which sets the stage for limitless opportunities for collaboration and partnerships.
Our
primary areas of responsibility include the following:
* Oversee the
university Recognition
process.
* Plan the Student Activities Fair in conjunction with University
Day.
* Create and distribute weekly table tents
used to publicize student organization events in the dining halls
and MUB Food Court.
* Publish The Leader
Reader, a newsletter for student leaders across campus.
* Sponsor periodic Educational Workshops
and Town Meetings for student organization members.
* Organize the end of the year Student
Leadership Awards Banquet.
* Present programs throughout campus on Getting Involved!
* Serve as a ongoing resource for all student organizations
and their members.
* Provide supplies for student organization use such as banner
paper, paint set, poster maker, button maker, etc.
* Oversee the Leadership
Library.
* Maintain the SOS website as a tool to communicate valuable
information to the general student population as well as student organization
members.
