Benefits of Recognized Student Organizations

Recognized student organizations are entitled to the following rights and privileges subject to all other relevant policies of the University:

* to use the University name; The University name, or any part thereof, shall not be used by any student or group of students in connection with any public activity except as authorized by the Office of the Memorial Union

* to apply for funding and utilize the services of the SAFO and ORO

* to be listed on the Get Involved Postcard and SOS website

* to use campus facilities and services

* to apply for office space in the MUB

* to sponsor campus programs and activities

* to utilize free advertising resources such as the weekly table tents and showcases located in the MUB

* to obtain free advertising in The New Hampshire newspaper

* to participate in the Student Organization Fair each fall and other student organization recruitment activities

* to apply for tax exempt status through the Internal Revenue Service

* to utilize the services of the MUB Ticket Office at a discounted rate

* to obtain the use of a mailbox and have access to the resources of the Leadership Center

* to participate in educational workshops

* to attend the annual Student Leadership Awards Banquet

* to receive free advising services

* to create a web or blackboard page

Please note that this list, though fairly comprehensive, is not necessarily all-inclusive. This means that if your organization needs something that you do not see on this list, all you have to do is ask us, and we'll see what we can do!

As you can see there are many perks to becoming a recognized student organization. However, with such benefits also comes a responsibility to uphold all policies as outlined in the Student Rights, Rules, and Responsibilities Handbook.
