The
“Read to Lead: Leadership Book Club” is meant to provide
an independent educational opportunity for students who may have
already attended Emerging Leaders, LeaderShape, or have scheduling
conflicts but are looking to continue their leadership education.
Here’s
how it works…it’s easy as 1-2-3!!
1.
SELECT a book on the topic of leadership that
you are interested in reading and attend an initial meeting with
all other R2L students on, Thursday, February 18th, 2010 (6 - 7pm) in MUB 321. There a staff member will review the
program requirements, distribute handouts, and answer any questions
you may have.
2.
READ the book by the end of the semester. Each
time you complete a chapter (or appropriate-sized section), you
must write a “chapter summary” of approximately 250
words. When you have completed the entire book, we ask you to
submit a “Book Review” of approximately 500 words.
3.
ATTEND the closure meeting on Thursday, May 6th, 2010 (6 - 7pm) in MUB 321, where you and other
R2L students will share individual book reviews. There you will
also submit both your book review and chapter summaries. If you
are enrolled in the Leadership Certificate Program, they will
be placed in your personal file.
