MLK Leadership Summit

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Summit is a program sponsored primarily by the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, which focuses on critical issues facing the multicultural communities at the University. Participants in the King Summit have the opportunity to examine and develop their own leadership potential within the context of a global community.

The 2009 MLK Leadership Summit will take place
at Camp Merrowvista in Tuftonboro, NH
from February 2oth - 22nd, 2009

Apply Online by February 11th, 2009

Critical objectives for the King Summit include:

  • Helping you gain a deeper understanding of your own culture and experience
  • Breaking down barriers to cross-cultural understanding
  • Providing participants with an opportunity for both self-awareness and interactive dialogue about the climate for diversity at UNH.
  • Building capacity for effective and principled leadership among current and potential multicultural student leaders at UNH.
  • Encouraging collaboration to address social justice issues.

Held each year, the King Summit has become an eagerly anticipated opportunity for learning, growth, reflection and cross-cultural dialogue, and many past participants have gone on to hold positions of student leadership at UNH – in student government, student organizations, honor societies and in the residence halls.

Participation in the King Summit is open to any full-time, currently enrolled (undergraduate or graduate) student at the University of New Hampshire.

Non-traditional and international students are encouraged to apply.
